THE BERLIN WALL: A DIVIDED WORLD

A landmark exhibition on a symbol that shaped the modern era

From 1961 to 1989, the Berlin Wall not only divided a city, but also shaped global geopolitics during the Cold War. Opening on November 7 at Espacio Inmersa in Barcelona, this major exhibition by Musealia and the Berlin Wall Foundation, presented with Proactiv Entertainment, explores life on both sides of the Wall, its dramatic fall, and its enduring legacy.

Designed across four themed areas with an individual audio guide, it brings together over 200 original objects—many shown publicly for the first time—and previously unpublished testimonies. After attracting more than 300,000 visitors in Madrid and Paris, the exhibition continues to engage audiences across Europe.

Highlights include authentic fragments of the Wall and deterrents such as the infamous “Stalin grass.” The experience invites visitors to reflect on the human cost of division and the enduring importance of freedom, coexistence, and democracy—values that feel increasingly fragile in today’s world.
